Asteria Hunter is an American tennis player with the record for the world's fastest serve.
Taking her name from one of the legendary Amazons of Greek mythology and daughter of one of the Titans, Asteria is herself a titanic powerhouse. With her Mohican haircut and standing 6 foot 10 inches tall with biceps bigger than the average male tennis player's calf muscles, Asteria looks like a cross between a bodybuilder, a basketball player and a boxer: someone with the reach to slam-dunk every ball with the force of a knock-out punch.
But such a show of strength is not just to psyche out her opponents, both on and off court. Asteria is actually a great tennis player. She has an accurate serve with one of the highest stats for consistently getting in her first serve, and can move around the court with mercurial speed. To top it off, she has a killer backhand… and forehand, and watch out for her smashes – it is a brave person who tries to lob a ball over her head. Asteria is reputed to practise with her own special balls that build up strength and speed. This is unconfirmed, but given her extraordinary abilities it seems entirely plausible.
In short, Miss Hunter sees herself as the next generation of tennis player – a super breed, a tennis machine.
