IRIS runs a college that provides a Masters degree course for its officers. The course has units on: political science, international law, doctrines of military strategy, comparative religions, cultural studies and linguistics. The college also provides a large number of foreign language classes, and opportunities to work at the foreign embassies in member states.

The course aims to impart IRIS officers with an understanding of a broad range of world issues and the skills of critical thinking to apply their tools creatively towards a peaceful resolution wherever possible.
