Genette Zetterling is the operations manager for IRIS and Abraham Hassall 's faithful assistant.
Mrs Zetterling studied archaeology and worked for a number of years as a curator at the Stockholm City Museum in her home town before joining IRIS as the operations manager where she uses her considerable cataloguing and archiving skills to great effect in managing the resources of the organisation.
Genette is naturally very good at what she does and supremely efficient. She does not tolerate what she considers the relaxed and haphazard 'antics' of some of the younger members of staff, whom she thinks are 'juvenile delinquents'.
Genette relishes the authority she has gained from her long service at IRIS and appears to derive a perverse enjoyment out of scolding those she sees are enjoying themselves too much and not acting as seriously she does. Agent Chauncey Dare-Brown is frequently on the receiving end of Mrs Zetterling's tirades. Genette has an uncanny ability of appearing at just the time when Chauncey is fooling around or making one of his humorous observations about life.
Despite being the butt of many of the office jokes, Mrs Zetterling is actually respected and valued for her work at IRIS and she is seen to care for those under her charge. You can read more about Mrs Zetterling and the work at IRIS at this link.
